Today's college students face many challenges such as overabundant credit card offers, sky-high tuition, obscenely expensive textbooks, etc. Unlike most books in this genre, "Go to college without going broke" was written by an actual college student that used those tips to get through college. Instead of generic, old-fashioned, one-size-fits-all advice, Grigory Lukin offers a unique perspective on saving one's time, money and sanity while in pursuit of a college degree.
The 33 tips contained in this New York Times-featured book are guaranteed to help current college students, as well as those who plan to go to college in the near future. That makes this book a perfect present to every young person, as well as required reading for everyone interested in going back to school.

Yes, Lukin's tips are, overall, worth the purchase. There's nothing fancy about this book; it's straight-up advice. The first tip alone would have saved me a fortune and paid for the cost of this book. Considering the amount being asked for this book, it'd be crazy for a money-crunched college student not to get it.I did remove a star for a few reasons. First, some tips contradict one another. Following all 33 tips would be unlikely, since some tips would be better interpreted as a "plan B" if others failed. Second, there are a few tips that underestimate the true cost of what's being asked. One particular tip on housing demands a lot more than the author gives credit for, and another tip regarding books would be ill-advised (Lukin gives a very clear warning on the issue).
The reader needs a personal filter on how to follow the advice provided in this book to best suit his or her personal needs. Aside from that, though, the vast majority of this book has great advice on how to anticipate and react to the unexpected costs of a college education and lifestyle.

Go to college without going broke 33 ways to save your time money and sanity eBook Grigory Lukin Reviews
Some good resources for college students but not all ideas apply for all students.
While I don't remember anything earth-shattering, there were definitely helpful websites listed that I was unaware of. There's sure to be something here for almost anyone. 3 1/2 stars
This was a free book that was recommended by a book club I follow on FaceBook. Im not sure it is free anymore.
I enjoyed reading this book, but I only read about 2 ideas that I hadn't thought of before. Everything else was a no brainer, but this book will work well for those who are completely lost about financial aid and learning to live frugally.
Great book to get college students to think out of the box. Written with a fun sense of humor. The rate your professor website is quite beneficial.
Many folks today are overpaying for college. There are many ways to reduce the cost of college and the time it takes to complete a degree. A must read for serious students who want to get in, learn, and graduate. No fluff.
I liked that this book was short and well organized with simple headings and a few short paragraphs to follow each section. It made for a quick read and was easy to take short breaks in between sections. However, I felt that most of the advice is basic in nature, and some sections could have possibly been elaborated on.
I was honestly surprised this short pamphlet did not talk about the heavily subsidized bus pass most colleges offer. Through my college, I was able to explore many places on a tight budget, by combining cheap (or free transportation) with low-cost dinners and was able to plan countless events to enjoy the weekends. But overall, I felt that this book offered a good amount of useful information, considering that it was concise and simple to understand.
